Design Your Divorce
It's happening, and you just don't know what to do. Your marriage isn't working, and you're thinking about divorce. But thinking about hiring a divorce attorney makes you feel even worse. You worry about the damage you'll do to your family, the time it will take to get through the process, and the tens of thousands of dollars you'll have to spend. You've heard horror stories and you're determined to make sure your story ends differently.
Who says you need to hire an attorney, anyway? These days, more and more people are looking for alternatives to traditional divorce. Virginia women are looking for ways to stay out of court, keep things amicable, and save as much money as possible. After all, the more money you save, the more money you have left to start over again afterwards. And that's the goal, right?
Of course it is! The problem is that there is a lack of resources available. If you search the internet, you're sure to find a number of free forms--but who wrote them? Can you trust them? After all, divorce is one of the biggest financial transactions in a woman's life. Surely you don't want to trust everything to a nameless, faceless internet source? And how do you know that what you write is even a good agreement? Without scouring the web, how do you know what the law allows? How can you be sure you're not drafting an agreement for yourself that's worse than what your husband's attorney would draft for you?
It's almost unknowable, especially based on the information that's out there. But, if you're committed to going at it without hiring an attorney, we're committed to helping you reach that goal. (After all, just because you don't want to hire an attorney doesn't mean you can't consult with one, right?)
It's a big part of what we do here. We preach education and empowerment, so we can help women craft the happily ever afters that they envision for themselves. We help them, essentially, design their own divorces so it looks like the most ideal situation they could have imagined.
Don't really want to be in and out of court constantly? Don't want an attorney on retainer? That's fine, and we have tons of resources available to help you as you ask the questions you need to ask to help create the divorce you've hoped to be able to get -- without all the terrible drama that some of your friends and family members have been through.
You don't have to hire an attorney to have the help of a licensed, experienced Virginia divorce attorney by your side as you navigate your divorce.

We can help, even if you ultimately decide not to hire an attorney. Having another set of eyes on your documents can help ensure that you don't make costly mistakes later on down the line. After all, in even the divorces with the least amount of assets, we're generally talking about tens of thousands of dollars in assets (or debts!) that need to be divided.
