Diane Hofheimer: Volunteer Service Champion

Posted on Oct 17, 2016 by Katie Carter

On Tuesday, October 25th, one of our own, Diane Hofheimer, is going to be recognized for all the volunteer service she has done in our community to prevent child abuse.
A long time volunteer with Prevent Child Abuse Hampton Roads (which has since been re named as Champions for Children Prevent Child Abuse Hampton Roads), Diane has worked tirelessly for many years to help educate people about child abuse, advocate for victims of child abuse, and promote changes to the law to help prevent future acts of child abuse from occurring.
Diane’s work was featured in a documentary, Small Justice: Little Justice in America’s Courts. She also worked as a paralegal alongside our attorneys Charlie and Kristen Hofheimer, often on child abuse cases. In fact, one of these cases was what spurred Diane on to continue advocating for children for the rest of her professional career. During that time, she advocated for legislative change, spoke at a number of local and national conferences, and worked with protective moms groups.
On the 25th, at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, Diane will be honored as a Volunteer Service Champion for her impressive and incredibly longstanding campaign to prevent child abuse.
We’re pleased and proud that Diane will be honored. If you’re interested in attending the Champions for Children breakfast on October 25th at 8:00am at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, tickets are still available. For more information, visit their website by clicking here. The cost to attend is $50, and proceeds will go to benefit Champions for Children Prevent Child Abuse Hampton Roads. Can’t make it but still want to make a difference? Visit Champions for Children online, and make a donation today. Every little bit helps!
Again, congratulations to Diane Hofheimer!
