Girl’s Night Out at the Ocean View Fishing Pier

It’s that time of the year again! It’s time for one of our favorite-ever Girl’s Night Out events at the Ocean View Fishing Pier. If you’ve never been there, you’re probably thinking, “A fishing pier? What?” but that’s only because you’ve never been there. It’s such a cool venue – unlike anywhere else I’ve ever been.

At the Ocean View Fishing Pier, there is a pier, yes. I mean, obviously. And you can go fishing. But, even more importantly, there’s a really amazing top deck bar. It’s about a quarter of the way down the pier, so most of the fishing is taking place on the pier behind the bar, but there are these amazing panoramic views of the beach and over to the HRBT. The water sparkles, the sand is gorgeous, and the breezes are to die for. We always get the most amazing sunset selfies and group photos out there. And the set up is pretty ideal, too. It’s almost lik ea little mini tropical vacation in the middle of the week! They have a giant Adirondack chair, swinging booths, and plenty of umbrellas if you’re the type who’d prefer to stay out of the sun. There’s a bar up there on the top deck, too, so you can be sure we’ve arranged for suitable libations.

We’ve organized some delicious food and drinks – if you haven’t tried the Orange crushes there, you should. It’s all free to you, compliments of the firm.

When is this sensational event set to take place?

Oh, dear. I haven’t mentioned the date and time! It’s June 19th, a Wednesday, from 6-8pm. It’s on the top deck, like I said, and we’ve reserved the entire left hand side of it when you come up the stairs.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes! As long as your friend is a lady, because this is a women-only event. After all, we’re a law firm dedicated to representing women exclusively in divorce, custody, and support cases. Though we like men just fine in other contexts, it’s not really appropriate at one of our events, and it could make some of our other attendees uncomfortable. The whole point is that we’re here to support women.

But, yes, please, bring a friend!

I’m not getting divorced, or going through a custody case.

That’s okay! Though that’s what we do for a living, if you’re not going through a divorce or custody case, we still want you to come. We’re not going to ask, and you don’t have to tell, either way. It’s your private business, and this is a happy hour.

I am going through a divorce or a custody case. Can I ask questions?

Umm, no. This is a happy hour. Though we definitely encourage questions in other places – like at our low cost divorce and custody seminars, for example – it’s not really appropriate at happy hour. We’ve been drinking, you’ve been drinking, and it’s not confidential – besides that, we do divorce and custody all day long, and this is a chance for ALL OF US to unwind.

We’re not trying to solicit business. (Business is quite good, thank you very much.) We’ve just heard, time and time again, that divorce and custody cases are isolating. In a lot of cases, women lose their friends. Not only that, but if the divorce goes on for a bit, they even find that they don’t really have the finances to support nights out. Drinks at bars can be expensive, you know! We’re trying to provide a safe, fun atmosphere for women to meet new friends, and just a platform for them to enjoy a stress-free night out, in the middle of their cases. Sure, we don’t mind if people come who aren’t going through a divorce or custody case (hey, we don’t discriminate), but it’s just not a time to ask questions about the case.

We usually have business cards on hand, so if you must – ask for a card. You can follow up later on or call to schedule an appointment, but we’re all off duty and trying to enjoy ourselves at Girl’s Night Out!

So, it’s free? All I have to do is show up?

Yup. It’s free; paid for by the law firm. All you have to do is show up! Of course, if you want something specific, or more drinks than we’ve allocated per person, you can open up your own tab, and that’s on you. But we provide the basics for a night out!
