GNO at the OVFP in June

Happy Memorial Day! If you’re an old school sort of girl, now’s the time to wear white and open toed shoes – it’s officially summer!

I’ve been waiting for this for ages, and I’m so glad it’s finally here! I’m a Virginia girl through and through, so the hotter and more humid the weather gets, the happier I am. I love our super hot Virginia summers, especially since we live so close to the beach – it’s never THAT hot when you’ve got a nice beach breeze, right?

The outside is best, especially this time of year. It seems like it’s always so difficult to plan outdoor events for Girl’s Night Out even though, if I had my druthers, they’d ALL be outside! But, you know… in April, it could rain (or be colder than expected) and even by September, though it’s often still warm, it’s hurricane season, so… Well, anyway, suffice it to say that I feel like there’s a very narrow window for planning events outside with reckless abandon, and, now that it’s officially summer, I intend to do so.
Our next Girl’s Night Out is going to be Wednesday, June 27th at the Ocean View Fishing Pier in Ocean View, Norfolk. We’ve had an event here for the last three or four summers (I’ve lost count), and it’s always a huge hit. If you haven’t been there before, you should definitely make it a point to attend, because the venue is gorgeous. We meet up on the top deck of the pier, where they’ve got a really cool rooftop bar. The views are panoramic and totally gorgeous — you see out to the HRBT (it’s the second to last exit before the tunnel if you’re coming from the Southside, and the second exit after the tunnel if you’re coming from the Peninsula) and around to the gorgeous beaches. On the top deck, there’s lots of fun places to sit, too – swing seats at the upstairs bar, giant Adirondack chairs, swinging picnic table benches, and more. Lots of selfie worthy spots, that’s for sure!

Hopefully you’ll be able to make it! Mark your calendar now for June 27th, from 6-8pm. For more information about the event or to register, click here.  Uncomfortable about coming alone? Bring a friend, family member, neighbor, or coworker along with you; the more the merrier! No divorce or custody case is required, so it doesn’t matter if she isn’t heading towards any kind of family law case. The only requirement we make is that women only attend; no men are invited to these events. Even our firm’s founder, Charlie Hofheimer, was excluded from these events (to his very bitter disappointment)!
Don’t have a friend to bring? That’s fine! Meet us beforehand by joining our private Facebook group at gnohr.com. You’ll have to request to join, and we’ll get you approved (but not before verifying that you’re (1) a woman, and (2) local) and you can make friends with us before the event.

For more information, give us a call at 757-425-5200. I hope to see you there!
